Blog Post Five// What Brings Satis-faction
Some of us frame our day as bad before we even live it. It sounds like:
Man, this day is gonna be terrible, I can already tell…
Uh, I hate Mondays. They’re the worst…
I can’t stand having to be here for this meeting…
Can I tell you what a statement like that is?
A death sentence.
Pronouncing something dead before it even happens.
A death sentence.
There is more power in negative words than you might think. They stick to us. It’s the business model of news organizations. Negative headlines get way more clicks than positive ones. It’s not even close.
Think of the negative words that have been spoken over you. You don’t have to think long. They try and set up camp and make themselves really hard to forget. They influence who we become.
But Proverbs says Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and health to the body. Proverbs 16:24
Positive, faith-filled words have the power to create hope and transform and set a course for an abundant life.

Wise words satisfy like a good meal; the right words bring satisfaction.
Try reframing your day—not pronouncing it dead before it starts. If right words bring satisfaction—future tense—then our words are self-fulfilling.
Eat well. Enjoy some good health for a change. There is enough death sentencing going on. Serve a few life sentences instead…
