Blog Post Six// God the Giver
Now, if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God, and co-heirs with Christ. Romans 8:17
This baffles me. Everything God has for Jesus, gives to Jesus, He extends to us. He extends to you.
God is a giver. He always has been. His desire to give to us over and above what we need. We know this incontrovertibly. If God didn’t spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things? Romans 8:32
He just keeps giving—with a slight catch. But not what you’re thinking. God wants you to have more than you need so that you give to others in need—on His behalf.
The extra is for others.
You’re not simply a container, you’re a conduit.
The grace, love and kindness God has shown you, let it flow out to others.
And if you feel like you don’t have what you need—the blessing flow is clogged or stopped for some reason, there’s only one way to increase the flow: Give what you need.
Whenever I see one of my kids freely share what they have, I feel it is my duty—and joy, really—to make sure they have more of that. I’ll give to them over and over if they keep that up.
Perhaps that’s the God part in me.
Share what you have—the extra is for others.
Give what you need—you’ll never go without.
