Blog Post 32// Psalm 91 Part 7
“Because He has set his love upon me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.” Psalm 91:14
God wants to protect you, but He also wants to promote you! He wants you to live with purpose, to see His Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.
Look back at verse 13 again:
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. Psalm 91:13
Satan is called both the lion and the serpent. But Jesus is also called a lion right? I love the distinction. Not THE lion, I am talking about the little guy. The young lion. He doesn’t have any teeth he’s so little.
Colossians says that Jesus, having disarmed the powers and authorities (He took their teeth out, took away their bite, took the point off the arrow), made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.
And now you, my friends, you shall also trample them underfoot, You will partner with the angel armies of heaven to crush the enemy’s head and establish new territory for the kingdom of God.
YOU shall do this.
You are more than a conqueror because
Verse 14
“Because [you] have set [your] love upon Me, therefore I will deliver [you]; I will set [you] on high, because [you] have known My name.”
This implies a constant return to the secret place. A constant resetting. When you feel yourself drift, you come back to Him. Like the Psalm says:
Set your love upon the Lord, again and again. Give Him your heart again. Take it, Lord, it’s yours!
When you feel too connected to the things of the world, disconnect through fasting and reconnect to the things of God.
He says,
When you do this: when you hang out with me, when you come back and stay close: You will have a bird’s eye view. You’ll see through my eyes. It looks different from up here. What looks so big to you is so small to me. What you can’t see past, I see far beyond. I can spot the enemy from a mile away and see your deliverance at the same time. I see the whole world but I also see you.
Here is a powerful prayer:
“God, give me eyes to see what You see. Help me to see beyond what is right in front of me.”
We will wrap this up tomorrow. See you then.
