Blog Post 31// Psalm 91 Part 6

For He shall give His angels charge over you,
to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up,
lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. Psalm 91:11-13

Let me sum up where we are so far:

When we learn to abide in the presence of God, to live in Him and with Him, it’s not just that He protects us, which He does. It’s that the closer we stay to His heart the more it changes ours. Let me say that again:

The closer we stay to God’s heart the more it changes ours.

The closer I am to Him, the more I hear His voice and know how to respond—the more I know what to do in a difficult moment.

The secret place is not a struggle. It’s a delight. If it’s a struggle you haven’t found it yet. It’s characterized by rest, hope, protection and perfect love that doesn’t allow fear in. It’s divine in that what affects the world does not have to affect me the same.

But it’s a continual ongoing relationship between you and the Spirit of God, a constant awareness of His presence, whether you are in church, home or at the office.

When God said, I will never leave you or forsake you, He meant it. He is everywhere you are. We have the opportunity to constantly stay close to Him in order that Heaven’s realities become earth’s realities.

Staying close to Jesus is what positions me to bring hope to the hopeless, speak life to what is dead, and bring joy to those who are mourning. We must be constantly aware of what the Spirit is saying so we know what to say.

Verse 11-13

For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

Do you feel this Psalm ramping up? I love it. It’s changing a bit. Up to this point, this Psalm has been mostly about protection, but right here it shifts. Now the protected push back the darkness and advance the kingdom.

Those who have spent time with Jesus are gonna take some ground. Those who have prayed and fasted are going to release the supernatural.

Those who make their home with Jesus are going to bring Jesus’ home here.

This is a bomb Psalm, isnt it?
