Good Morning,
Holy Spirit

Here’s where this gets incredible.
The Holy Spirit, who is fully God, who is a Person and not a force, lives in us.
And when I say us, I mean those who have put their faith in Jesus.
“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth… you know Him, for He lives with you and will be in you.” John 14:16–17
For three years the disciples had God with them.
They walked with Jesus, ate with Jesus, watched Him heal, asked Him questions. God was right there.
Then Jesus throws down a wild card and switches the color.
He tells them, What you have experienced with Me beside you, you are about to experience in a way you don’t yet understand. God is going to dwell in you.
That’s why He could say, “It is better for you that I go away.”
In His physical body, Jesus could be with them.
Through the Holy Spirit, God would dwell in them.
And now in you.
“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?” 1 Corinthians 6:19
For generations, the temple was the dwelling place of God’s presence among His people. Now Paul says, Oh, by the way—YOU are the temple.
We read the Bible and think, Imagine being Moses watching the Red Sea open.
Imagine being Peter stepping out of the boat.
When we get to Heaven one day, we’re going to have some questions, aren’t we?
But I wonder if before we can even get the questions out, they’ll be waiting at the gate for us.
You’re Joey! I’ve been waiting all your life to ask:
What was it like to have the Holy Spirit living IN you?
What was it like to carry the presence of God everywhere you went?
Here’s what is wild… and wonderful:
The God who created you has chosen to dwell in you.
Not visit occasionally.
Not show up only when the music is right.
Not just meet you in a room on Sunday.
He lives in you!
At work. At home. In the car. In the middle of a normal Tuesday afternoon.

But did you know you can have the presence of God and still live unaware of the presence of God?
We wake up, grab the phone, check the messages. We drive the kids, answer emails, make dinner, scroll, go to bed. Then we wake up and do it all over again. All while the Spirit of God lives in us.
What if, before you reached for your phone in the morning, you simply said, “Good morning, Holy Spirit”?
Not because those are magic words, but because you’re acknowledging what’s already true:
He’s here!
What if throughout your day you started talking to Him?
Holy Spirit, help me.
Holy Spirit, give me wisdom.
Holy Spirit, is there something You want me to notice here?
Holy Spirit, help me respond like Jesus.
This isn’t about becoming weird. It’s about becoming aware.
You don’t have to invite the Holy Spirit into a room He entered with you.
So when we pray, “Come, Holy Spirit,” we’re not asking an absent God to finally show up.
It can also mean: Come, have Your way. Come into the places I’ve been trying to control. Come into my parenting, my relationships, my thinking, my ordinary everyday life. Lead me. Teach me. Change me. Make me more like Jesus.
Maybe “Come, Holy Spirit” is less about getting God to come closer to us and more about opening every part of our lives to the God who is already near.
God is here.
His Spirit lives in me.
And I am never walking into anything alone again.
